Hunter Dickinson scored 16 of his 22 points in the second half Sunday as No. 3 Michigan defeated No. 4 Ohio State 92-87 at Columbus, Ohio, snapping the Buckeyes' seven-game winning streak.
It was the first meeting between the longtime rivals when both were ranked in the top 5 and it lived up to the billing despite the game being played without fans.
The Wolverines (16-1, 11-1 Big Ten), who have won five consecutive games, got 17 points from Eli Brooks. Chaundee Brown had 15, Isaiah Livers 12 and Mike Smith 11.
Duane Washington Jr. had a career-high 30 points for the Buckeyes (18-5, 12-5), including a 3-pointer with 3.4 seconds left to put his team to within 90-87, but Brooks made a pair of free throws with two seconds remaining for the final margin.
No. 6 Houston 90, Cincinnati 52
Three days after falling out of first place in the American Athletic Conference, the Cougars responded by dominating the visiting Bearcats.
Houston (18-3, 12-3 AAC) broke the game open starting at the 11-minute mark of the first half, outscoring the Bearcats 55-11 over a span of 18 minutes and 23 seconds to take a 73-30 lead. Quentin Grimes led the Cougars with 20 points.
Cincinnati (7-8, 5-5) had its four-game winning streak snapped.
Houston recovered its stingy defensive identity, holding the Bearcats to 30 percent shooting overall (15 of 50) and 23.8 percent (5 of 21) from 3-point range. The Cougars shot 47 percent (31 of 66) overall and 39.1 percent from 3-point range (9 of 23).
No. 11 Iowa 74, Penn State 68
Luka Garza had 23 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Hawkeyes to the Big Ten victory over the visiting Nittany Lions.
On a basket with 8:18 remaining that gave Iowa a 56-54 lead, Garza also became the school's all-time leading scorer. He passed school legend Roy Marble (2,116 from 1985-89) and finished the game with a career total of 2,126.
CJ Fredrick scored 18 points and Joe Wieskamp added 11 to lead Iowa (17-6, 11-5 Big Ten), which won its fourth straight game.
The Hawkeyes won despite committing 16 turnovers and going just 12 of 22 from the free-throw line. Iowa did have a 46-35 rebounding advantage over Penn State (7-12, 4-11).
No. 21 Wisconsin 68, Northwestern 51
Micah Potter scored 19 points and D'Mitrik Trice added 13 as the visiting Badgers extended the Wildcats' losing streak to 13 games in the Big Ten matchup at Evanston, Ill.
Jonathan Davis and Brad Davison added 12 points each as the Badgers (16-8, 10-7 Big Ten) snapped a two-game losing streak. Wisconsin used a 10-0 run midway through the second half to pull away after the Wildcats cut the deficit to seven points at 46-39 with 12:59 remaining.
Northwestern (6-14, 3-13) trailed by as many as 19 down the stretch. Boo Buie had 19 points for the Wildcats.
The Badgers shot 41.1 percent and earned a season sweep of Northwestern, following a 68-52 home victory on Jan. 20. The Badgers extended their winning streak over the Wildcats to six games.
